Holvorson, Robert “Bob/Howie” (13 June 1954 – 18 August 2022)
The world lost a bright light . . .
Robert “Bob or Howie” Halvorson lost a courageous battle with cancer on
Thursday, August 18, 2022.
Robert was born on June 13, 1954, in Wausau to Melba Halvorson. He spent his
early years in Fenwood before moving to Colby, where he attended school in Colby
and ran Halvorson Dairy with his mother. Robert was always a hard worker with a
heart of gold. He worked at Haupt Well and then managed Arpin Lumber for a
while. Bob enjoyed life in the cheese factory and worked later at Nasonville
Dairy and Mullins Cheese.
He enjoyed being outdoors and making firewood. He liked woodworking and crafted
many bird feeders, bird houses and bat houses. He kept the Marshfield Respite
Center supplied with bird houses that they often used for fundraisers. Bob
enjoyed his many hobbies and time spent with good friends. He was known as the
good neighbor who would always lend a helping hand.
Bob will sadly be missed by his sister, Bonnie (Russ) Andres and his niece,
Chelsea (Mike) Stuttgen along with many friends and neighbors.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Celebration of Robert’s
Life that will be held at 5:30 P.M. on Friday, September 2, 2022, at Wildwood
Park Station in Marshfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Carpenter, Paul
Habeck, Fred Jensen, Tom Nikolay and Chris Langreck. All of whom were more like
brothers to Bob.
His family would like to thank House of the Dove for making Bob comfortable in
his last days.
Robert’s arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.
