Neillsville PD Completes ALERRT Training (2022)
Members of the Neillsville Police Department teamed up with the Cornell Police
Department, Wisconsin State patrol, Burnsville Minnesota Police, Chippewa County
Sheriff’s Office and Chippewa Falls Police Department for 16 hours of the
Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (A:ERRT) Active Shooter
Response, Level 1 course at Cornell High School Aug. 9-10. This dynamic course
of instruction is designed to prepare the first responder to isolate, distract
and neutralize an active shooter. The course covered shotting and moving,
threshold evaluation, concepts and principles of team movement, setting up for
and room entry techniques, approaching and breaching the crisis site, secondary
responder tactics, improvised explosive devices and post-engagement priorities
of work. The course culminated with dynamic force-on-force scenarios. Pictured
