Neillsville PD Completes ALERRT Training (2022)

Members of the Neillsville Police Department teamed up with the Cornell Police Department, Wisconsin State patrol, Burnsville Minnesota Police, Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office and Chippewa Falls Police Department for 16 hours of the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (A:ERRT) Active Shooter Response, Level 1 course at Cornell High School Aug. 9-10. This dynamic course of instruction is designed to prepare the first responder to isolate, distract and neutralize an active shooter. The course covered shotting and moving, threshold evaluation, concepts and principles of team movement, setting up for and room entry techniques, approaching and breaching the crisis site, secondary responder tactics, improvised explosive devices and post-engagement priorities of work. The course culminated with dynamic force-on-force scenarios.
