Northrup, Rodger Dale (6 July 1935 – 23 August 2022) With Flag
Rodger Dale Northup, age 87, of Pickerel, WI died August 23, 2022, under the
care of his family and Compassus Hospice.
Rodger was born July 6, 1935, in Neillsville, to the late Leland and Grace
(Schoenherr) Northrup. He married Iva Volz on August 4, 1956, in Neillsville.
She preceded him in death April 20, 2018.
Rodger was a graduate of Neillsville High School class of 1953. He went on to
serve in the US Army. He then settled in Chicago beginning at McLean Fogg. He
moved with the company to Mundelein. His ingenuity and talent helped him rise to
the head of the engineering department. Upon retiring, Rodger and Iva moved to
Pickerel.
Rodger enjoyed trips to Michigan to watch NASCAR and Rockford and Milwaukee for
USAC racing. He also enjoyed fishing. Rodger was a member of St. John Lutheran
Church in Pickerel.
Survivors include a daughter, Laurie (Dan) Jeffers of Gages Lake, IL, a son;
David Northup of Sheboygan, WI; a sister Jeannine Todorvich of Thermopolis, WY,
a granddaughter; Jessi Jeffers of Gages Lake, IL.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 30 at 11:30 A.M. at St. John
Lutheran Church in Pickerel. Reverend Rick Kelm will officiate. Visitation will
be prior to the service at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be
in Pearson Cemetery with Military Honors. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is
assisting the family.
