Zachow, Joyce M. (21 March 1944 – 28 August 2022)

Joyce M. Zachow, age 78, of Withee, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the Marshfield Medical Center.

Joyce was born on March 21, 1944, the daughter of Leroy and Evelyn (Reuter) Volkmann in Milwaukee. She graduated from Milwaukee High School on June 15, 1962. On February 28, 1964, Joyce graduated from the Milwaukee Institute of Nursing and on May 22, 1964, earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree. She worked for many years at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center. Joyce was united in marriage to Raymond Zachow on August 15, 1964. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2019.

Joyce enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, animals, especially dogs and being outdoors. She especially liked going to garage sales and enjoying an occasional brandy and coke. Joyce was strong-minded and had a contagious laugh. Most importantly, she loved and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her two sons: Chad (Kelly Beske) of Withee and Wade (Doris) of Eau Claire; two grandsons, Joel and Evan; two step-grandchildren: Makayla and Nicholas. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and three siblings: Nancy, Joan and Ron.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the arrangements.
