Canfield, Dixie Lee (30 January 1982)
The Rev. Joseph Henseler officiated at the Saturday early afternoon, January 30,
nuptials for Dixie Lee Canfield and Peter Joseph Langreck. St. Mary’s Catholic
Church in Neillsville was the site for the rites. Parents of the bride are
Darwin and Cindy Canfield, Rt. 1 Granton, and parents of the groom are Mr. and
Mrs. Harold Langreck, Rt. 5 Neillsville.
Serving as maid of honor was Sue Ure, a friend from Madison. She was joined by
Melonie Canfield, a sister of the bride from Granton; Loriann Langreck, a
sister-in-law of Neillsville; Liz Donahue, the bride’s cousin of Neillsville;
and Caroline Kosmosky, the groom’s sister of Neillsville.
Larry Murphy a friend from Wyoming, was bestman. He was joined by Roger Kosmosky,
a friend; Dennis and Danny Langreck, brothers of the groom; and Larry Kosmosky,
a brother-in-law. All were from Neillsville. Ushering were Bill Donahue, a
friend from Neillsville, and Vince Canfield, the bride’s brother of Owen.
“The Wedding Song” and “The Rose” were the musical selections offered by Michael
Bletsoe and Mark Lavey.
The bride chose a gown of Swiss and carried a bouquet of roses, carnations,
daisies and baby’ breath. Her attendants wore pink, polyester knit gowns
featuring jackets of net and lace; they carried bouquets of carnations, daisies
and baby’s breath. The groom was attired in a gray tuxedo and his attendants
wore gray suits.
Following the wedding service, a reception was held in Fine Arts Building at the
Clark County Fairgrounds in Neillsville. Prenuptial events included a shower
hosted by Sue Ure at the home of the bride’s parents.
The new Mrs. Langreck is a 1981 graduate of Granton High School and is employed
by Kim Langreck. Her husband is a 1976 graduate of Neillsville High and is
employed by the 4X Corporation of Neillsville. The couple will make their home
on West 18th Street in Neillsville.
