Fitzmaurice, Helen A. (22 March 1900 – 2 February 1982)

Funeral services were held from the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville on Saturday afternoon, February 6, for Helen A. Fitzmaurice of Humbird. The Rev. Donald King of Osseo officiated at the services with burial made in the Town of Mentor Cemetery.

Mrs. Fitzmaurice, 81, passed away in Black River Memorial Hospital in Black River Falls on Tuesday morning, February 2.

On March 22, 1900, she was born to Ernest and Clara (Bangel) Putman in the Town of Mentor. She received her education in Humbird. On May 29, 1915, she married Lewis S. Fitzmaurice in Menomonie ceremonies. The couple then lived in Menomonie and Janesville, returning to Humbird in 1930. Mrs. Fitzmaurice was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Women’s Study Club of Humbird.

Surviving her is one son, Dale, Janesville; two daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Dorothy) Jinkerson of Humbird and Mrs. George (June) Michels of Alma Center; four sisters, Mrs. Marie McSchooler of Westby, Mrs. Dorothy Bohl of Reedsburg, Mrs. Margaret Hunter of Omro and Mrs. John (Clara) Primus of Wind Lake; one brother, Joseph Putman, Westby; 21 grand; 34 great-grandchildren; and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband (August 1, 1969); a daughter, Violetta “Midge”, four brothers; and one sister.
