Fait, Vernon J. (30 Apr 1928 – 27 Aug 2022)
Vernon J. Fait, 94, Mosinee, formerly of Spencer, died on Saturday, Aug. 27,
2022, at Rib Lake Health Services. Services were held at 11 a.m., on Friday,
Sept. 2, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Meuret
officiated. Burial was at St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee.
Vernon was born on April 30, 1928, the son of Stanley and Mary (nee Pitra) Fait.
He worked as a veneer inspector at Roddis before going into the Army in 1950. He
served in Korea until 1952 and was a member of the Army Reserve until 1956 when
he was honorably discharged. After returning from Korea, he went to college in
River Falls to become a teacher. He majored in agriculture. Then he received a
degree from Stout for industrial arts. He also was a certified driver’s
education instructor. He married Adeline Loss at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in
Stratford on Aug. 21, 1956. They made their home in Spencer, where he taught for
30 years. While teaching, he was an advisor for the FFA and built the press
boxes, concession stand and ticket booth for the high school athletic field.
After his retirement from full-time teaching, he continued to teach driver’s
education until 2011. When he retired from teaching at the Spencer Public
School, Vernon and Adeline moved to Mosinee.
He is survived by his wife, Adeline Fait; his son, Gary Fait; his daughter,
Renee Fait; his daughter in-law, Linda Fait; his grandchildren: Jessica Bell,
Jason Fait, Holley Dornfeld, and Stacey Karn; eight great-grandchildren; his
sister in-law, Ramona Fait; and his brothers: Marvin Fait and Dennis Fait.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Mary Fait; his son,
Mitchele Fait; his father in-law, Anton Loss; his mother in-law, Agnes (Joswiak)
Loss; his brothers: Stanley and Donald Fait; his brothers in-law: Emil Weiland,
Sylvester Fellenz, John Loss, and James Loss; and his sisters in-law: Irene
Fellenz, Victoria Graff, and Joan Fait.
