Runge, Arlene J. (5 September 1935 – 31 August 2022)

Arlene J. Runge passed away August 31, 2022; Nine years to the day after her beloved husband Dale. They were always together in life, now they are together again.

She was born September 5, 1935 but always said her life did not begin until she married Dale and they had their own family.

Arlene worked from home sewing for people until all the kids were in school and she went out to work at the Farmers' Store, Figis and Pamida.

She and Dale worked hard to raise their family with plenty of fun along the way - boating and big picnics at Hatfield, special birthday celebrations, and big holiday meals and gatherings.

After the children were grown Arlene was free to enjoy leisure time with Dale. They shared many great rides on their matching Honda Gold Wings, always trading up every few years. I guess you could say they now have the ultimate Gold Wings!

Another fun pastime was going to Ho-Chunk Casino in Black River. Arlene was the lucky one with the slot machines; Dale socialized in the lounge area to not jinx her!

After Dale passed, she was very lonely, but her strong faith in God, family ties, positive attitude and sense of humor enabled her to go on. She reached out to people at Living Hope Evangelical Free Church by preparing delicious meals for those needing a little extra love at hard times.

In 2019 Arlene moved to the Neillsville Retirement Community where she had many friends amongst the residents and staff. She always tried to lift people up, and freely shared stories of her life that never failed to bring a smile.

Thank you to everyone who knew and loved Arlene, we are all grateful to have shared in her life.

There will be a private service at a later date.
