Stevens, Harry W. (23 November 1899 – 18 February 1982)

Harry W. Stevens, 82, a longtime Humbird area farmer, passed away at his rural Humbird home on Thursday morning, February 18.

Mr. Stevens was born on November 23, 1899, in the Town of Mentor to Louis and Rose (Young) Stevens. He received his education in the Humbird area and farmed with his parents until their deaths. H continued to farm until five years ago when he retired. He never married.

Funeral services were held from the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville on Sunday afternoon, February 21. The Rev. Gary Clark of the United Church of Christ officiated with burial made in the Town of Mentor Cemetery.

Surviving him are four sisters, Emma Mitchell of Wheeler, Daisy Stevens of Humbird and Dot Kaneff and Rosie Horton, both of Great Falls, Mont.; and two brothers, Ernest of Humbird and Mike of Great Falls. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
