The Abbotsford Volunteer Fire Department has recently completed the Firemanship
I course, and 13 members received certificates for passing the course.
The members who received completion certificates are: William Colby, Mark Colby,
Donald Kalepp, Henry Weix, Gerald Kalepp, John Pfalzgraf, Thomas Kittel, Terry
Kelsey, James Nikolay, David Hargraves, Robert Morrow, Dennis Weix and Francis
Wiese.
The 1- week course, sponsored by the North Central Technical Institute, Wausau,
was taught by Chuck Hildebrandt and Herb Friedrich. Clyde Owens was the Course
Coordinator.
The volunteer firefighters completed the course requirement, which included five
hours of hose and fire stream practice, five hours of ladder practice, two hours
of forcible entry and ventilation, two hours of overhauling operations and
salvage, two hours of methods of extinguishment and firefighting principles and
practices and two hours of fire department equipment instruction.
