Tyler Meier, Cub Scout Derby Winner (1982)
Tyler Meier took first place in the annual Pinewood Derby, held on Friday March
19, in Neillsville.
The Cub Scout event centers around the racing of Scout prepared miniature wooden
automobiles which are raced down a specially designed track. The Neillsville
Kiwanis Club helped with the race, which was held during the final hours of the
community’s Showcase of Values. Besides young Meier in first place, other
placers in the 21 competitors were Brad Dettinger, second; Scott Hubing, third;
and Todd Wuethrich, fourth.
Wayne Gross is Cub Scout master and Bob Barth was the den leader who assisted in
the race.
