Wagner, Paul A. (6 November 1903 – 11 March 1982)

A former Town of Levis man, Paul A. Wagner, passed away in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, on Thursday evening, March 11. Mr. Wagner, of Neillsville Memorial Home since 1978, was 78 at the time of his death.

The deceased was born on November 6, 1903, in the Town of Grant to August and Amelia (Reidel) Wagner. He received his education in Town of Grant schools and then worked in Milwaukee for several years. After his marriage, he farmed in the Town of Levis for many years, retiring in 1972 due to failing health. He then became a resident of Memorial Home. He was a member of St. John’s congregation.

Surviving him are two sons, Verlyn of Springfield, Oregon, and Ronald of Milwaukee; two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Lorraine) Volz of Wisconsin Rapids and Mrs. Darrel Edwards of Alma Center; three sisters, Eva Grottke, Olga Northrup and Ella Schnabel, all of Neillsville; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters, a daughter and a grandson.

Funeral services were held on Monday morning, March 15, from St. John’s evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville, with the Gesche Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated with burial made in the North Pine Valley Cemetery; pallbearers were Terry and Randy Volz, Jeff, Scott and Steven Edwards and Tim Wagner.
