Wedekind, Alma (9 December 1886 – 10 March 1982)
A native Swede and 11-year resident of Neillsville Memorial Home, Mrs. Alma
Wedekind, 95, passed away on Wednesday evening.
The deceased, nee Alma Severson was born on December 9, 1886, in Hellsenberg,
Sweden. She received her education in that country, coming to the United States
at the age of 16. She settled in Chicago, living there for several years, and
then moved to Clark County in 1912. One year later she married William Wedekind
in Neillsville ceremonies.
The couple farmed in the Town of Pine Valley for many years. After the death of
her husband in 1947; Mrs. Wedekind made her residence with her son. About eleven
years ago, she became a resident of Neillsville Memorial Home.
Surviving her is a son, Irvin Wedekind, Neillsville. She was preceded in death,
besides her husband, by five sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were held from the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville on
Saturday afternoon, March 13, with the Rev. Wally Anderson of Living Hope
Evangelical Free Church officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville City
Cemetery.
