The 65-year Neillsville High School Class of 1957 reunion took place Sept. 17
afternoon at The Brickyard Bar and Restaurant in Neillsville with 23 classmates
plus their guests attending. Reunion committee members Art Stiemke, Dolores Mohr
Kenyon and Bill Zank hosted the event.
Stiemke acknowledged those traveling the farthest to attend - Darrell Lindow
from Monroe, IL, outside of St. Louis, MO, and Mona Hoesly Lockhart from St.
Charles, IL. Others came from Minnesota and various parts of Wisconsin. Zank
read the list of the 41 classmates who had passed away since graduation. On
display was the large picture frame containing the yearbook photos of all the
classmates, that normally hangs on the wall at the high school.
Because this was the final class reunion to be planned, those gathered decided
by unanimous vote that money left from all the reunions be donated to The
Highground Veterans Memorial Park in honor and memory of veterans from their
class.
After a prayer by Darrell Lindow, the classmates and guests enjoyed a delicious
lunch prepared by the Brickyard, which was followed by reuniting of old friends
with many happy memories shared.
“No matter how much time passes, it’s always great to be back home again!” wrote
Lori Johnson in a press release about the event.
