Haas, Joseph N. (17 June 1906 – 22 March 1982) With Flag
A long-time employee of Model Laundry in Neillsville, Joseph N. Haas, 75, passed
away in Neillsville Memorial Hospital on early Monday morning, March 22. He had
been suffering from cancer.
The deceased was born on June 17, 1906, in Neillsville to Lawrence and Mary
(Ardts) Haas. He received his education in Neillsville Schools and then worked
for several years. During this time, he married Olga Boten in April 30, 1934,
Neillsville ceremonies. He was a member of St. Mary’s parish and the Knights of
Columbus.
Haas entered the military during World War II. After the service, he returned to
Neillsville and worked for 35 years at Model Laundry, retiring in 1972.
Surviving him, besides his wife, is a sister, Katherine Wheeler, St. Paul,
Minnesota.
Funeral services were to be held today, Thursday, March 25, at 10:30 a.m. from
the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. The Rev. Joseph Henseler of St. Mary’s
Catholic Church was to officiate with burial in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
The body was to lie in state at the Gesche Funeral Home on Wednesday evening
from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Thursday morning until time of services.
