Roy S. Herron, Sr., 58, a former Town of Grant farmer, passed away in a Madison Veterans Hospital on Saturday, April 3, after a long illness.

In 1956, the couple moved to the Neillsville area where he farmed in the Town of Grant until 1968 when failing health forced his retirement. He continued to make his home on the farm. He was a World War II veteran. He was a member of the United Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, December 13, 1978; two sons; a brother; and a granddaughter.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, April 7, from the Neillsville United Church of Christ with the Rev. Gary Clark officiating. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery; the Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
