The marriage of Beverly Ann Peche and John Michael Schmidt was solemnized at 2
p.m. Saturday, October 26, 1974 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. The
Father Joseph Miller officiated and organist, James Rauscher, accompanied the
soloist Lorna Casey of Green Bay.
The bride and groom are the children of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Peche, Medford, and
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Schmidt, Colby.
Given in marriage by her mother and father, the bride appeared wearing a gown of
sheer nylon organza of A-line design with sequined scalloped Chantilly lace. The
gown was styled with a high neckline, long full sleeves and detachable train and
matching lace edged cathedral length mantilla veil. She carried a crescent
shaped bouquet of flame roses and white carnations.
Mary Ingles, Eau Claire, was the matron of honor, and Julie Vesely, Colby, Jeri
Schmidt, Colby, Kay De Jong, Appleton and Cathy Osenga, Milwaukee were
bridesmaids.
They were attired in empire style halter gowns with floral sheer skirts and
velvet tops and jackets. Each carried a colonial bouquet of flame red and ivory
carnations.
Serving as best man was Larry Brown of Wausau, and groomsmen were Ken Vesely,
Colby, David Peche, Medford, Leroy Pec, Milwaukee and Donald Schmidt, Tomahawk.
Allen Rau, Medford and Tom Gabriel, Wausau, performed ushering duties.
Following the wedding a reception as held at the Dorchester Memorial Hall.
The bride, a graduate of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, is employed at the
Colonial House of Colby. Her husband attended United Technical Institute at
Milwaukee for one year, and is presently engaged in the business of farming.
Following a wedding trip to Florida, the couple will make their home at Rt. 3,
Colby.
