Hoffman, Charles A. (26 Apr 1933 – 4 Nov 1974)
Charles A. Hoffman, 41, Route 1, Dorchester, died Monday, November 4, 1974 at
Memorial Hospital at Medford at 6:45 p.m. of an apparent heart attack.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sacred heart Catholic Church,
Stetsonville. Father Arthur Weber will officiate.
Burial will be in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Jacob Burggraf will officiate at
the committal rites, and there will also be military services at the cemetery.
Hoemer Funeral home, Medford, is in charge of arrangements.
Charles Hoffman was born April 26, 1933 in the Town of Little Black, Taylor
County. He was a 1951 graduate of Medford High School. He was married January
20, 1954 to Beverly Fritsche at Stetsonville. He served in the Korean War and
continued there until 1955, when they moved on a farm in the Town of Little
Black. He was also employed at Hurd Millwork at Medford for 16 years. Her served
as president of the local union there and was the past president of the Midwest
Council of Labor Relations.
Mr. Hoffman served as president of the Taylor County NFO and was a member of the
Farmer’s Union. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was
presently serving on the parish council.
He is survived by his widow; four sons, Mark, Jeff, Daniel and Charles Jr., all
at home; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Susan) Martin, Mrs. Steve (Rita) Salzman,
both of Medford, Lorna, Cheryl and Linda at home; one grandchild; his parents,
Mrs. and Mrs. Paul Hoffman, Route 1, Medford, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bach,
Wisconsin Rapids and Mrs. Beatrice Jarocki, Dorchester.
