Dins, Rita Rae (2 Nov 1974)
Vases of white chrysanthemums and candelabra trimmed with cascades of white
chrysanthemums and bows graced the chancel of the Zion Lutheran Church at Colby
for the marriage November 2, 1974 of Rita Rae Dins, Stevens Point, and Gerald J.
Ashenbrenner, Rosholt.
The bride is the daughter of the late Albert and Edna Dins of Colby, and sister
of Allen and Paul Dins, Colby, and parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs.
Joe E. Ashenbrenner, Caroline, Wisconsin.
The Rev. Robin O. Flink officiated at the 4 p.m. candlelight service, and Maldon
Plank, Marshfield, accompanied the soloist, William Allen, Marshfield, as he
sang “Entreat Me Not to Leave thee”, “Because”, “The Lord’s Prayer” and “Wedding
Prayer”.
The bride, escorted down the aisle by her brother Allen Dins, wore a gown of
Candlelight silk organza trimmed with imported Venice lace and pearls on the
bodice, sleeves, skirt and chapel length train. Her triple veil of imported
sheer illusion was trimmed with matching lace and pearls and fell from Camelot
headpiece complementing her gown. She carried a cascade arrangement of white
orchids sprayed candlelight entwined with three varieties of ivy.
Maid of honor was Miss Mary Vorland, Oshkosh and matron of honor was Mrs. Helen
Scheidt, Custer.
Following the wedding ceremony a dinner was served for 250 guests at the Village
Plaza Ballroom, Spencer, with the reception held throughout the evening. The
seven foot wedding came was cut before the bridal march.
After a wedding trip to Las Vegas, the couple will make their home at 3825
Roberts Street, Stevens Point.
