Reynolds, Fred H. (31 Oct 1893 – 17 Nov 1974)
Services were held for Fred H. Reynolds, R 1, Dorchester, on Wednesday, November
20, 1974 at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester, with Father Jacob Burggars
officiating.
Mr. Reynolds died on Sunday, November 17 at 10:05 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Hospital
in Marshfield. He was buried in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Born on October 31, 1893 in the town of Mayville, Clark Co., Mr. Reynolds
married the former Mary Stelzel on November 4, 1914 at St. Louis Church,
Dorchester. She died on January 8, 1967.
At the age of 17 he began to operate the Bruckerville Cheese Factory in the Town
of Holton, which he operated until 1947. He then came to Dorchester, where he
served as president of the Dorchester Cheese Company until 1965, when he
retired.
He was a charter member of the Dorchester Lions Club, served as treasurer in the
town of Holton for 20 years, was a trustee on the Dorchester Village Council for
16 years. He was a member of St. Louis Church, a member of the Catholic Order of
Foresters, and a member of the Dorchester Senior Citizens.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Melvin (Gladys) Zettler, Loyal, Mrs.
Clifford (Grace) Wetterau, Dorchester, Mrs. Peter (Violet) Rajewski, Wisconsin
Rapids, Mrs. Joseph (Mary Ann) Mayer, James , Jerome and Thomas, all of
Dorchester, one brother, John, Brighton, Illinois; one half-brother, Gay
Graffunder, Medford, a half-sister, Mrs. Helen Bake, Athens, 27 grandchildren
and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four half-brothers.
