Linda Krause, a junior history major at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens
Point, will return to her home in Curtiss in early December, after spending the
past four months in London with UW-Stevens Point “Semester in Britain Program.”
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Krause, Curtiss, she is among 40 UW-Stevens
Point students living and studying at Peace Haven, an international friendship
house that is used as UW-SP’s London headquarters. Students study with both
American and British professors, and often pursue independent projects in the
field of their major.
In addition to a month-long study tour of Europe, participants in the program
have an opportunity to take many short trips outside London in the university’s
mini-bus to such sports as Stonehenge, Canterbury, Oxford, Cambridge and
Stratford on Avon, as well as brass rubbing expeditions to centuries old country
churches. Tours to Scotland and Ireland also are popular.
