Neillsville-Methodist Pastors Bid Adieu (Noble’s - 1982)

After eight years in Neillsville, the Revs. Bill and Cora Noble, 205 East Fourth Street, will be moving on to a new assignment for the United Methodist Church.

It was the first Sunday in February of 1974 that Pastor Bill first appeared in the pulpit of Neillsville’s and Granton’s United Methodist Churches.

Six years ago, Cora Noble re-entered college at UW-Stevens Point to complete degree work interrupted by marriage some 25-yeears earlier. She received her bachelor’s degree in 1978. During the past four years she has been attending United Theological Seminary, New Brighton, Minnesota, and will graduate from there on May 23.

Cora has served as student pastor at Fairchild’s and Humbird’s United Methodist Churches for the past two years.

Now the two of them—Pastors Bill and Cora—are assigned to United Methodist Churches just northwest of Green Bay. Cora will served Suring and Hickory and Bill will serve Angelica, Bonduel and Red River.

Their last Sunday service in the area will be May 30. On Saturday, May 29, there will be a farewell Open House at the Neillsville United Methodist Church. Everyone, including people of the greater Neillsville community may attend the 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. event. Coffee and refreshments will be served, and the Nobles will offer a few parting words.
