Local Jaycettes Tops in Wisconsin (First Place - 1982)
The Neillsville Area Jaycettes have recently learned that the local group has
received national recognition as an outstanding new chapter. Each third of the
Jaycette year, chapters accumulate points for various aspects of their programs.
From their charter date to October 1, 1981, the Neillsville Jaycettes placed
second in the nation against all new chapters. Again, in the second third, the
Neillsville Area Jaycettes placed second in the nation. The combined point
totals place the Neillsville Jaycettes in first place as of the end of the
second trimester.
When compared to all Jaycette chapters, new or established, from all cities in
the U.S. regardless of population size, the Neillsville chapter placed 65th. It
was the highest ranking of any Wisconsin chapter.
The Jaycettes continue to be active in community programs. Upcoming projects
include the Cystic Fibrosis bike-a-thon, the centennial parade, and
Mother-of-the-Year contest. Ongoing projects include the Buckle-Up-Babes infant
car seat rental program, co-sponsored by Neillsville Memorial Hospital,
reorganization of the Community Clothing Center and the sale of infant front of
back carrier seats.
For more information on any of these programs, call 743-4006 or 743-4548. The
Jaycettes is a leadership training organization with active membership for
women, ages 18 to 35, and associate memberships open to women of any age.
