Guetschow, Mary (3 Sep 1881 – 26 Nov 1974)

Mary Guetschow, 93, Colby, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 26, 1974 at the Marshfield Convalescent Center. Funeral services were held on Friday, December 6 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby, with the Rev. Francis Rushman officiating. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

A general parish rosary service was held at the Lulloff Funeral Home on Thursday evening.

Born September, 3, 1881 in the Town of Colby, the former Mary Schaller married Frank Guetschow in 1899 in St. Nazianz. She received her education in the Colby School District. After her marriage they farmed in the Town of Hull until 1945, when they moved to Colby in retirement. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, who died on July 29, 1960. She is survived by three children: Norman Guetschow, Colby, Lester Guetschow, Stevens Point, and Mrs. Burt (Eleanore) Heise, South Milwaukee.

Other survivors include 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by one daughter and four sisters.

The pallbearers were Elroy Gutenberger, Louis Jackel, Clarence Fager, Ken Heise, Myle Boschka and Edward Heise.
