Skiff, Anne (Missions Trip - 1982)
Anne Skiff, 15-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Skiff, 1201 Grand Ave.,
Neillsville, left Sunday night for a summer with Teen Missions International in
Switzerland.
After two weeks of boot-camp training at Merritt Island, Florida, she will fly
to Spain with her team of 33 teenagers and five sponsors. The will travel by
train to Switzerland where they will work on several projects at the Centre
Evangelique Valaisan in Saxon, Switzerland, for five weeks.
Projects include renovating a stable into a multi-purpose room, clearing an
alpine pasture of bushes and loose stones, digging a trench 1,500 feet long for
a drinking water pipe and digging a hole for a cesspit. The team will also be
involved in sharing their faith with those attending the youth camp and in the
nearby towns and villages on weekends.
Anne attends the Living Hope Evangelical Free Church and will be a sophomore at
the Neillsville Christian Academy in the fall.
Others who have spent their summers with Teen Missions from Living Hope Church
are Anne’s sister Miriam, who spent one summer in Honduras, Central America, and
one summer in France; and Kris Anderson, daughter of Pastor and Mrs. Wally
Anderson, who spent a summer in Sweden and a summer in England.
Teen Missions International is an inter-denominational ministry that seeks to
acquaint teenagers with missions throughout the world and get them involved in
Christian service through work and witnessing. This summer 1,400 teens and 250
leaders will be going out to countries such as Germany, Jamaica, Israel, Mexico,
Italy and Egypt.
