Chase, Daphne P. (14 August 1906 – 7 June 1982)
Daphne P. Chase, 95, a longtime resident of Neillsville Memorial Home, passed
away at the Home on Monday afternoon, June 7.
The deceased was born on August 14, 1906, in Neillsville to Ralph and Pearl
(Gilford) Blackman. After receiving her education, she married Lyman L. Chase in
December 15, 1925, Neillsville ceremonies. The couple then farmed in Waushara
County for a short time. After returning to Clark County, they farmed on
Pleasant Ridge, just east of the Neillsville community, for many years. Then
they retired and moved to Neillsville.
Since 1966, Mrs. Chase, due to poor health, became a resident of Neillsville
Memorial Home. Her husband died on December 21, 1970.
Surviving her is a daughter, Mrs. Henry (Marjorie) Schmidt, Neillsville; six
grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death,
besides by her husband, by a great granddaughter.
Funeral services were to be held today (Thursday, June 10) at 1:30 p.m. from the
Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. The Rev. Gary Clark of the United Church of
Christ is to officiate with burial being made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
(Visitation was to be held on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again
on Thursday until time of services.) Pallbearers were to be Jack and Jerry
Schmidt, Roger Erickson, Harold Grossbier, Conrad Chase and Steve Mabie.
