Diers, Charles F. (10 August 1916 – 5 June 1982)
Charles F. Diers, 65, passed away in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, on
Saturday evening, June 5, after a brief illness.
Mr. Diers was born on August 10, 1916, in the Town of Pine Valley to Carl and
Alma (Bardeleben) Diers. He received his education in Pine Valley and
Neillsville Schools and then farmed in the Town of Pine Valley for several
years. He then worked for ten years for Weyerhauser of Marshfield and then for
the Neillsville Milk Pool and Hediger Dairy of Christie. It was during this time
that he married Lillian Bieneck in October 20, 1937, Neillsville ceremonies.
For the past 16 years, Diers had been employed by Nelson Muffler of Neillsville.
He is survived besides his wife, by a son, Donald, Stoughton; and two daughters,
Linda of Milwaukee and Cheri of Neillsville; and two grandchildren. (Both Cheri
and Mrs. Diers are known to Press readers as correspondents for Neillsville
local news.)
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, June 8, from the Neillsville
United Methodist Church with the Rev. William Noble officiating. Burial was made
in the Neillsville City Cemetery; with the Gesche Funeral Home in charge of the
arrangements.
