A Job Service Center offering employment and unemployment help daily to Clark
County resident s will open Monday, December 30, 1974 in Neillsville.
The State Department of Industry, Labor and Human Relations said the center will
be open from 8 am. To 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Clark County
Courthouse.
In charge of the office will be Mrs. JoAnn Hoffman of Greenwood, a manpower
specialist with the Job Service. She will be assisted by Mrs. Connie Ennis of
Neillsville, a clerk.
The office will take job orders from employers and make job placements, among
other services. Beginning January 27, 1975 the office will begin taking
unemployment compensation claims each day. At present, a claims taker visits the
county on Wednesdays only. Resident otherwise must go to the District Job
Service office in Marshfield on other days.
Funds to pay for the two staff positions are coming from the county’s initial
allocation of federal funds under the National Comprehensive Employment and
Training Act.
