Lehr, Ronald A. (24 July 1950 – 8 November 2022) With Flag
Ronald A. Lehr, age 72, of Owen, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at
Aspirus Medford Hospital Emergency Room.
Ron was born on July 24, 1950, the son of Virgil W. and Ina (McCosky) Lehr in
Fort Atkinson. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1968 and enlisted in
the US Army on July 12, 1970, and was honorably discharged on July 11, 1973. He
was united in marriage to Shirley E. Ely on December 21, 1970, at Zion Covenant
Church in Elsworth. Ron attended the University of Wisconsin River Falls and
earned an Associate’s Degree in 1974. He worked for Midland Co-op in Wisconsin
and Minnesota until moving to Owen in 1979. Ron then went on his own and was a
field man for several cheese factories getting them ready for inspection,
retiring in 2012.
Ron enjoyed woodworking, remodeling, collecting milk bottles and caps, camping
and traveling Wisconsin with Shirley.
Ron is survived by his wife: Shirley of Owen, sons: Rockford Lehr of Owen, Scott
Lehr of Owen and Justin (Stacy) Lehr of Medford, grandchildren: Elizabeth Lehr,
Hadley Lehr and Lane Lehr and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is further survived by his siblings: Evelyn Stone, Robert Lehr, Donald (Ardis)
Lehr and a sister-in-law: Wendy Lehr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Virgil E. (Marjorie) Lehr and
Roy Lehr, sisters: Barbara (Leon) Steadman and Francis (Duane) Heine.
A Memorial Service will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at
the Community Alliance Church in Withee. Pastor Andy Davis will officiate.
Visitation with be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday at the
church. Full military rites will follow the service by the Owen American Legion
Post #123 and the Owen-Withee Vets Club. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in
Owen is entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Community Alliance Church in
Withee or the O-W Vets Club.
