John Schwartz, 90, Dorchester, R. 1, died at Medford Memorial Hospital on
Wednesday at 6 a.m. Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Peter’s Lutheran
Church at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Roland Golz officiating.
Burial was in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home was in
charge. Pallbearers were Jerome Steevens, Howard Bedroske, John Neidhold,
Clarence Rankl, Chester Buss and Russell Buss.
Mr. Schwartz was born February 27, 1884 at School Hill in Manitowoc County,
Wisconsin. At the age of one year he went with his parents to Minnesota, and
then at 13 years of age returned again to Wisconsin.
On July 25, 1912, he married Clara Lindner at Marshfield. They farmed in the
Town of Holton and lived on their present place since 1936. They retired from
active farming in 1954, when their son-in-law and daughter took over the farm.
He is survived by his widow, his daughter, Mrs. Lester (Gertrude) Kloth, six
grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one sister, Rose Habeck, Bell
Plain, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
