McCombie, Adrienne E. (29 January 1937 – 10 November 2022)
Adrienne E. McCombie, 85, of Willard, passed away on Thursday, November 10,
2022, at Marshfield Health Services, in Marshfield.
Adrienne Elizabeth Glisky was born on January 29, 1937, in Appleton, MN, the
daughter of Francis J. and Elizabeth M. (Galerneau) Glisky. She received her
education in Monroe, MI, graduating from St. Mary’s Academy High School in 1955.
Adrienne attended nursing school at Macomb County Community College in Warren,
MI, where she received her degree as a Registered Nurse in 1971. She worked in
the Detroit area, and after saving up enough money, purchased the Tioga property
near Willard in the mid-1960s. In 1977, Adrienne built a house on the property
and made that her permanent home. She worked at Neillsville Memorial Hospital,
in Neillsville, as the Director of the emergency room and operating room, and
then went to work at the Clark County Health Care Center, in Owen, until her
retirement. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Adrienne had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time with her
grandchildren, gardening, travelling, working on her old buildings, and, as she
would put it, being the "Mayor of Tioga".
She will be dearly missed by her children: Brian McCombie of Marshfield, Laura
Walter of New Richmond, Jeanine Schreiner of Hartland; four grandchildren: Holly
Stierle, Matthew Schreiner, Brenda (Anthony) Davis, Gregory (Charlotte) Walter;
her sister: Maryann Ashman of Shelby, MI; one brother: Daniel Glisky of Shelby,
MI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Adrienne was preceded in death
by her parents; her son: James McCombie; and her sister: Joan Glisky.
Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, in Willard, with funeral
services held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic
Church, with Rev. Emmanuel Famiyeh officiating. There will be no visitation.
