The Rev. Michael Mertens performed the wedding rites for Doris Kiggins and Alan
Lindner on Friday afternoon, May 28, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood.
Parents of the couple are Albert and Ferne Neuenfeldt, 201 Eaton Ave., Greenwood
and Lawrence and Josephine Lindner, Rt. 2, Loyal.
Special music was offered at the service by Terresa and Rosy Bayuk of ‘Willard.
Pam Mueller, a friend of the bride from Owen, was the matron of honor. She was
joined by Jeri Lynn Mayenschein, a friend from The Woodlands, Texas, and Carla
Lindner, the groom’s sister of Loyal. Max Brux, a friend from The Woodlands, was
bestman. He was joined by friends Randy Vesel of Greenwood and Mike Mueller of
Owen. Gary Olson a friend from Greenwood and Joe Lindner, the groom’s cousin of
Stratford, served as ushers.
The bride chose a Chantilly lace gown with Queen Anne neckline, pearl trim, long
sleeves, skirt with pleated center and chapel-length train. Her matching
headpiece was adorned by a lace-edged veil. She carried a bouquet of blue
carnations, white daisies and baby’s breath. Her attendants wore gowns in baby
blue with spaghetti straps and shirred bodices and which featured sheer jackets
that were ruffled and trimmed in lace; they carried bouquets of blue daisies and
baby’s breath. The groom was attired in a white tuxedo while his attendants wore
light blue tuxedos.
Following the ceremony, a dinner was held in the church hall, which was followed
by a reception and dance at the Greenwood American Legion Hall.
The new Mrs. Lindner is a 1982 graduate of Greenwood High School. Her husband it
a 1981 graduate of the same school and attended the wood technics program at
District I Technical Institute-Eau Claire. He is employed at Travis Feeds,
Greenwood.
