Dieter, Helen (15 July 1900 – 3 June 1982)
A former Neillsville resident, Helen Dieter, 81, passed away on Thursday, June
3, in Zwingli, Iowa. Mrs. Dieter (nee Langhorst) was born on July 15, 1900, in
WestPoint, Nebraska. She married Casper Dieter in WestPoint ceremonies.
Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Darlene) Potter of Zwingli, Mrs.
George (Delores) Shultz of Marion, Iowa; a son, Donald, Mason City, Iowa; two
sisters; two brothers; thirteen grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 12, 1969.
Funeral services were held on June 5.
This lady’s husband was a nephew of my great grandfather, Herman Gehrt; and we
lived on the farm, (from 1944 to 1950 for 6 years, to the day) that Marie and
Harry had owned in Pine Valley. I never knew those folks personally. My dad and
his brother were two of the pallbearers.
