Gerald A. Ackeret, Greenwood, will assume the position of Executive Vice
President of the Dorchester State Bank on April 1, 1975. He will replace M. S.
Sorenson, who will retire on that date.
Ackeret was born and raised in the rural Medford area and attended the Medford
Schools. He is a graduate of Medford High School.
He served in the U.S. Army and was involved in the army’s occupation of Japan.
He was a member of the Medford Unit of the National Guard, serving as an officer
for a number of years.
He worked at the State Bank of Medford from 1956 to 1966. He left there as
assistant cashier to become cashier of the Farmers and Merchants Bank of
Greenwood, serving there in that capacity until this year.
