McCready, Thomas (? - 15 June 1982)
Thomas McCready, 82, former Humbird resident, died June 15 at the Osseo Nursing
Home.
McCready was born in Morrisonville, Illinois, and came to Wisconsin where he
graduated from Northwestern Telegraphy School in Eau Claire in 1918. He worked
as a telegraph operator and station agent for Chicago and North Western Railway
Company for 47 years, some of which were in Humbird, Black River Falls and
Menomonie.
He married Grace M. Bobb on September 19, 1929, Stillwater, Minnesota.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Marjorie Laffe, Humbird, a stepson, Harry M.
Bobb, Eau Claire; and nieces and nephews.
Services were held June 17 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Menomonie, with
burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Menomonie. The Stanton Funeral Home in Menomonie
was in charge of arrangements.
