Gayle Hauser, Colby High School, was among nine students at the UW Center,
Marshfield, Wood County, who was awarded a scholarship for incoming freshmen.
She plans on majoring in occupational therapy and has been president of the
library council , historian of the Spanish Club and secretary of the Masquers.
She has also bee a member of forensics, Youth Association for Retarded Children,
GAA and the National Honor Society.
The scholarships are valued at $200 each. A total of $5,200 in scholarship were
awarded for next year. Funds for the program at the UW Center come from local
donations to the University Center Association, the University League and the UW
Alumni Association.
