Curtain, Ashton Michael (30 December 2003 – 5 November 2022)
Ashton Michael Curtin, age 18, was taken far too soon in an automobile accident
November 5, 2022, in Florence County.
Ashton was born on December 30, 2003, in Marshfield to Kim Ohaugherty.
Ash loved life, making others laugh, motivating others to be their best, and
helping those he cared for. He played hard and worked harder. He learned a
strong work ethic, love of animals and the outdoors by working alongside his
mother throughout his life, caring for and training animals. He never met an
animal that didn't instantly respond to him.
Ash could be found exploring state and county parks, adventuring with friends,
family or his beloved dog Emma (who passed away just two days after him).
Growing up he enjoyed skateboarding, high school football and wrestling, and all
things outdoors. As he grew, he became a skilled welder at RamRod, and a devoted
weight lifter. He shared a love of classic music and cars with his mom. His
classic mustang is a treasure he left for his family to finish for him. Ashton
was an old soul with a gift for touching so many lives, of all ages and
backgrounds. He had a unique sense of humor and mischievous streak that got him
into trouble as much as it got him out of it. While his time with us was far too
short, his impact will last forever.
Ashton is survived by his mother, Kim Ohaugherty, he is also survived by the
families that have adopted them; Larry Scheuer and family; Erik and Krista
Hoglund and family, and Brent Benson. All became tremendous influences in his
life, that he was eternally grateful for, and a better man for knowing. He is
preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary N Benson.
A memorial service is planned for spring of 2023. He will be laid to rest in
West Spencer Cemetery during a private ceremony.
