Ketcham, Harry T. (6 Aug 1892 – 7 Jun 1975)
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 17, 1975 for Harry T. Ketcham,
formerly of Abbotsford, who died June 7, 1975 in Brownsville, Texas.
Mr. Ketcham was born August 6, 1892 in Richland Center and moved to Abbotsford
in 1920 following WWI, as an employee of Wing Drug Company.
He was postmaster at Abbotsford from 1924 – 1936 and was one of the original
founders of the Abbotsford unit of the National Guard, serving as its commanding
officer when the Guard was first called to federal service in October 1940.
Mr. Ketcham served in Russia during WWI and was decorated with the Military
Cross decoration of Great Britain. In WWII, he served in the Italian Theatre and
was decorated with the Military Valor Cross, Legion of Merit and Bronze Star
medal. He was released from service as a colonel in 1945.
Survivors include his widow, Marie, and one son. Col. Donald T. Ketcham.
