Boxrucker, Mr./Mrs. John (60th - 1 Jun 1975)
Family and friends of Mr. and Mrs. John Boxrucker, Route 1, Abbotsford,
surprised them on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary, Sunday, June
1, 1975. The celebration was held at the home of their son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Langteau, Colby.
Mr. and Mrs. Boxrucker were married June 1, 1915 at St. Louis Catholic Church,
Dorchester. Original attendants were Mrs. Elsie Pueschner Wilke, Sheboygan, Mrs.
Boxrucker’s sister; Mrs. Mamie Hurth Green, and Casper and Jake Boxrucker,
brothers of the bridegroom. Of the attendants, only Mrs. Wilke is living, and
she attended the Sunday celebration.
After their married, the couple farmed in the Town of Little Black until 1950,
when their son, Louis, took over the operation of the home farm. Since 1950 they
have lived at Route 1, Abbotsford.
Mrs. Boxrucker was born Mary Pueschner on January 1, 1894, in the Town of Little
Black. Mr. Boxrucker was born December 22, 1892 in the Town of Medford.
They are members of St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester, and on Sunday a
special mass was offered for the by Rev. Jacob Burggraf.
The children, Mrs. Roy (Helen) Langteau, Colby, Louis, Route 1, Dorchester, and
Arthur, rural Prairie du Chien, were present for the celebration. Another son,
Lawrence, a twin of Louis, was killed at Pearl Harbor.
Nine of the couple’s 14 grandchildren were present on Sunday also.
Also attending the party were Joe Boxrucker, Abbotsford, Mrs. Anton Boxrucker,
Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Fay Yost, Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Miller, spencer, Mr. and
Mrs. Carol Blumenthal and son, Carl Jr., Franklin Park, Illinois, Diane
Boxrucker, Madison, Mary Boxrucker and her fiancé, Blaine Kuehmichel, both of
Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Boxrucker, Prairie du Chien Mr. and Mrs. John
Mulvaney, David and Kathleen, Sheboygan, Mrs. Mildred Beisner, Colby, and Mrs.
Marie Decker, Owen.
