Paul Writz received a $100 honorary scholarship from Northern States Power
Company President and General Manager, John L. Carroll, recently. Writz’s
father, Dan Writs, is a lineman for NSP’s Central Division.

In ceremonies held at corporate headquarters in Eau Claire, Northern States
Power Company President and General Manager, John L. Carroll, presented two $750
scholarship awards and three $100 honorary scholarships to five of the 16
regular and 13 honorary scholarships awarded in the NSP system this year. The
grants, which are renewable for four years, contingent on satisfactory
scholastic performances, were awarded to sons and daughters of NSP employees in
the four-state area.
Paul L. Writz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Writz, Abbotsford, was the recipient of a
$100 honorary scholarship. While attending high school, Writz was a Badger Boys
State Representative, President of the National Honor Society, member of the
student senate and the Laird Youth Leadership Conference. In addition, he was
salutatorian of his class. He plans to attend St. John’s University at
Collegeville, Minnesota to pursue a career in the field of medicine.
Writz’s father is lineman overhead in NSP’s Central Division.
