Mr. and Mrs. Roy Nagel planned and hosted a dinner and reception in honor of his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Nagel, Colby, June 20, 1975.
Dinner was served at 5 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church to 80 guests.
Joan Nagel, a granddaughter, was in charge of the guest book.
The guest of honor table had two centerpieces of yellow roses and white
carnations. Each small table was centered with a gold rose.
Yellow roses, white carnations and baby’s breath were in the corsage and
boutonniere the couple wore for the occasion.
Entertainment at the VFW Hall was visiting and dancing. A buffet lunch was
served later in the evening, including a three tiered wedding cake, which was
served by their granddaughter, Mrs. Edward Wyrzykowski.
Nagel, the son of Otto and Frida Nagel, was born September 14, 1894 in Sheboygan
County and was educated there. Prior to his marriage he farmed in the town of
Hull.
His wife, the former Edna Thiel, daughter of Ernest and Anna Thiel, was born Jun
24, 1905 in the Town of Hull, Marathon County, and attended schools there.
The Nagels farmed east of Colby until 1952, when they moved to Colby. Nagel was
employed at Roddis Manufacturing and Blume Brother Box Factory until retiring in
1960.
Their only son, Roy, lives in Highland, Indiana, and they have six grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren, all whom were present for the celebration.
Mr. and Mrs. Nagel are members of Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, and the VFW and
Auxiliary.
Guests attended from Belle Plaine, Minnesota, Sheboygan, Lansing and Dalton,
Illinois, Highland and Hammond, Indiana, Land O Lakes, Poynette, Marshfield,
Neillsville, Granton, Phillips and the surrounding communities.
