Stock, Alma (30 May 1895 – 15 Jul 1975)
Mrs. Alma Stock, 80, died July 15, 1975 at Colby following a lingering illness.
Services were held July 18 at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, with the Rev. Robin
Fink officiating.
Burial took place in Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harold Amacher. Dr. A. C. Dehn, Frederick Dins, Peter Beyerl,
Gary Schmidt and Richard Herrmann.
The former Alma Laack was born May 30, 1895 in the Town of Mayville in Clark
County. After her married to Edward Stock on June 21, 1916 at St. Peter’s
Lutheran Church, Dorchester, the couple farmed in the Town of Colby until
retiring in 1949. They then moved to Abbotsford.
She and her husband operated an insurance agency from 1940 until his death in
1965.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid and the
Abbotsford Senior Citizens Club.
Survivor include a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Lois) Anderson, Abbotsford; a brother,
Arnold Laack, Abbotsford; four sisters, Mrs. Rose Hoffman, Wisconsin Rapids,
Mrs. Edna Tennis, Mrs. Harry (Leona) Mandel and Mrs. Clarence (Elva) Heber, all
of Unity; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, two sisters and a brother.
