Sperling, William A. “Bill” (1 September 1943 - 2022) With Flag
William “Bill” A. Sperling, age 79, of Withee, passed away on Wednesday,
December 14, 2022, at the Marshfield Health Services.
Bill was born on September 1, 1943, the son of Walter and Norma (Whittemore)
Sperling in Owen. He graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1962. Bill
enlisted in the US Air Force and served four years. After his honorable
discharge, he worked for Pribbernow Plumbing, which became Hughes Plumbing. Bill
purchased the business and renamed it Sperling Plumbing.
Bill was a proud member of the Lublin American Legion Post #547, the Owen-Withee
Vets Club and Owen American Legion Post #123. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Bill is survived by his sister, Shirley (Leslie) Craven of Withee; four nieces
and one nephew: Nora Craven, David Craven, Denise Todd, Cindy Gaulke and Darla
Schrock; great-nieces and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents
and his brother, Ronald Sperling.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at
the Masonic Lodge (713 E. 3rd Street, Owen). Rev. Nancy Amacher will officiate.
Military Honors to follow provided by Lublin American Legion Post #547, Owen
American Legion Post #123 and the Owen-Withee Vets Club. Family and friends are
welcome from 12:00 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at the lodge.
