Lustig, Cheryl (26 June 1982)
St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eau Claire was the site for the Saturday
afternoon, June 26, nuptials for Cheryl Lustig and Dennis Poppe. The Rev. David
Kilde officiated. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Lustig of Altoona
and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Poppe, Rt. 3 Neillsville.
Jean Lustig, the bride’s sister of Altoona, was maid of honor. She was joined by
Pat Stangel of Eau Claire, Sandy Elmhorst of Granton and Kathy Poppe and Sherri
Poppe, both of Neillsville. Best man was Jerry Trybula, a friend of the groom
from Neillsville. He was joined by Kren Stangel of Eau Claire, Jerry Pfeiffer of
Neillsville and Kevin Lustig and Steven Lustig, both of Altoona. Ushering were
Jerry Poppe, the groom’s brother of Neillsville, and Ed Bayuk of Willard.
The bride chose a chapel-length gown featuring long sleeves with Chantilly lace
and wrist ruffles, Schiffli lace ruffles and pears on the bodice and a lace and
ruffled hemline. Her fingertip veil was of lace. She carried a spray of white
roses, dark violet and lilac Queen Anne’s lace, baby’s breath, ferns, all
adorned by white ribbon. Her attendants wore long, pleated, all lace gowns in
lavender and featuring matching jackets accented in violet. Each wore baby’s
breath in their hair and carried sprays of dark violet and lilac lace, baby’s
breath, ferns and daisies, accented with white ribbon.
Following the service, a reception was held at the church with a dance at the
Silver Dome Ballroom, rural Neillsville. The couple then left on a trip to the
western states. The new Mr. and Mrs. Poppe will make their home in Eau Claire.
