Pauly, Susan M. (5 Sep 1958 – 9 Jul 2021)
Today marks a sad day for us as it is our mother’s birthday, she would have
turned 63. For those of you who are not already aware, Sue Pauly, originally
from Hillside, Illinois, died after a 3-year courageous battle with ovarian
cancer on July 8, 2021.
Sue was the beloved mother of John and Jim Pauly; the beloved daughter of the
deceased Matt and Helen Dergance; the beloved sister of Jim Dergance (Laura) and
aunt, relative, friend, co-worker, etc. She was a registered nurse since 1978
and received many accolades from hospital administration, her co-workers, and,
most importantly, her patients.
Both Jim and I sincerely apologize for not providing people with timely memorial
service information as this pandemic has been quite a “moving target.” That
being said, regretfully, we have opted to not have a public service for our dear
mother. With the recent surge in new COVID cases, new break-through cases, and
the number of people still unvaccinated, we believe our decision is prudent
considering everyone’s personal physical safety should be our top priority.
(Honestly, we also had to give consideration as to how large the “turn-out”
would be for her.)
There will be a private memorial service in and around Rock Dam, Wisconsin
sometime in 2022. On behalf of Jim and I, we’d like to sincerely thank each and
every one of you for your thoughtful consideration and acts of kindness
demonstrated in so many different ways. Arrangements were made by Bucaro Funeral
Home & Cremation Center. For more information please visit our website at
