William Ernest Jakel, age 87, Abbotsford, died in Owen on Saturday, August 2,
1975.
Funeral services were held at Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford, Tuesday,
August 5. The Rev. Kenneth Loehrke officiated. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery,
Curtiss.
Mr. Jakel was born June 18, 1888 in the Town of Mayville, Clark County, and
received his education in the Curtiss Public schools.
He married the former Ida Wachsmuth, December 27, 1913 in the Town of Green
Grove, Clark County.
He worked in Minneapolis as a street car conductor and later moved to the
Mayville Township area and farmed until 1957, when they moved to the city of
Abbotsford.
Mr. Jakel was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his widow; two sons, Bernard, Boyd and William, Madison; two
daughters, Mrs. Hugh (Lorraine) French, Mulberry, Indiana, and Marguerite Jakel,
St. Paul; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one daughter and one brother.
