Barbara J. Pipkorn, Route 1, Unity, was among 17 students who have completed the
Mid-State Technical Institute nine week Nursing Assistant program at the
Marshfield Campus, and received their certificates at informal ceremonies at the
campus today.
Guest speaker was James Olson, Marshfield Campus Supervisor. Certificates were
presented by Mrs. Jean S. Bell, MSTI Division Chairman, Health Occupations, as
students were presented by program instructor Mrs. Laverne (Donna) Drexler. An
informal reception followed.
Students have learned to assist in the care of hospital and nursing home
patients, under the supervision of a registered nurse. The 180-hour program is
offered in various locations in Med-State Vocational, Technical and Adult
Education Districts.
In addition to their classroom instructions at the Institute campus, students
received extended clinical experience at St. Joseph’s Hospital and the
Marshfield Convalescent Center.
