Six years ago, Mrs. Delores Justman, Route 1, Unity, was inspired with an idea – a slide tape set to let Clark County resident know the cultural benefits of their county and community.

That dream became a reality recently when an audio-visual display called “This is Our Home – Clark County” was developed by the Clark County Extension Homemakers as a cultural arts project.

The presentation is a story of the past and present, geography, agriculture, history, and shows areas of scenic interest.

Members of the 45 Clark County Homemaker Clubs gathered information and slides concerning their own areas in order to highlight the industries, recreational facilities, natural beauty spots, and places of interest in Clark County.

After the materials were assembled, the committee compiled the information as basis for a brochure that goes with the 15 minute slide presentation.

The brochures, “Clark County” contains a short history, a three-color county map, and legend entailing interesting county sites. It also includes calendar of events, listing monthly activities in the county, lists of business and industry tours, libraries and recreation and scenic sites.

Funds were provided for printing the brochures by the Clark County Board of Supervisors.

The presentation and brochure is available without charge to clubs, schools, civic, church groups and other interested organizations. Scheduling will be coordinated by the Clark County University Extension office, located at the courthouse in Neillsville.
