Ortmeier, Mr./Mrs. Henry (60th – 26 Dec 1975)

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ortmeier, Abbotsford, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary recently with a banquet and open house.

Mr. and Mrs. Ortmeier, married on December 26, 1915, in the Town of Colby, held the celebration a few months in advance so friends and relatives could come together without the dangers of winter travel.

About 70 guests joined the celebrants at a surprise banquet held at the Colby First United Church of Christ Hall, Saturday, September 20, 1975.

Eighty-five friends and relatives attended an open house held at the church hall the next day from 2 to 5 p.m.

Guests included relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Neuhaus, the Laverne Neuhaus family, the Bill Johnson family and the Larry Johnson family, all of Lake Geneva.

Others came from Oak Creek, Berlin, Manitowoc, Shawano and other nearby cities.

Mr. and Mrs. John Barry (Janet Olson, the Ortmeier’s niece), Torrance, California, sponsored the event.
