Slowiak, Frances (9 July 1930 – 1 April 2005)

Frances Slowiak passed away on April 1, 2005 at Thorp Health & Rehabilitation.

Frances was born on July 9, 1930, in the Town of Thorp, Clark County to Adolph and Anna (Dryston) Olocki. She grew up in the area, attending Eidsvold School and graduating from Stanley High School in 1948. She was united in marriage to Henry Slowiak on June 10, 1950, at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp. They lived and farmed in the Junction area, Town of Thorp. She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Czestochowa Church, the Rosary Society. She was also active with the Polish Dancers, and enjoyed sewing and gardening. Her special love was for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also involved in the foster grandparent program for a number of years.

She is survived by her husband Henry of rural Stanley, 2 daughters, Patricia Slowiak of St. Louis, MO., & Eugenia (Calvin) Schultze of Stanley, 2 sons: Michael (Joelyn) Slowiak of Kiel, and Andrew of Stanley, also, 5 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren. Also survived by 3 sisters, Mary Ann (Richard) Losiak, Eau Claire, Jean (Elmer) Lisenbe of Valinda, Cal. and Nellie Blair of California and 2 brothers, Robert and Henry Olocki, both of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Stella & Rose and 5 brothers, Stanley, Matt, Henry, Frank and Chester.
